The Robert Barefoot Coral Calcium Supplement - King of the Bio-elements.

Robert Barefoot is becoming very popular and his message is mesmerizing to say the least. In his book, The Calcium Factor, he explains, in simple to understand terms, why he believes calcium is the King of all the bio-elements. He is well respected through out the world as a leading authority on nutritional therapy and biochemistry. In Canada there are now six MD's practicing his protocols along with numerous MD's in Russia. As the testimonials continue to pour in more and more doctors are sure to follow suit.

Dr. Carl Reich started his medical practice in 1950 and in just a few years he was labeled a medical maverick. By giving his patients mineral and vitamin supplements he was able to turn their lives around. Dr. Reich started asking all his patients if they drank milk. If they said yes I love milk, I drink lots of it, he put them in category one. If they said they liked milk but only drank it occasionally, he put them in category two. If they said no I can't stand milk, I never drink it, he put them in category three. Dr. Reich said it didn't take long to see that category one was healthier than category two was healthier than category three. After years of keeping these records with thousands of people involved he said that it didn't take a genius to realize it must be the calcium factor that was making the difference in the health of his patients.

As citizens of the United States we must note that Dr. Reich was practicing in the 1950s and the milk was delivered daily to those who drank it. It was not pasteurized or homogenized. The milk didn't have antibiotics, hormones or steroids added. This same study performed today might easily yield different results since our dairy source has been adulterated by the pharmaceutical industry. In 1950 dairy products were still rich in all natural sources of vitamins, organic sulfur (MSM), digestive enzymes and minerals, especially calcium. No one ever reported lactose intolerance because of the digestive enzymes present in the milk. Pasteurization, heating milk up to 112 degrees, destroys the organic sulfur (MSM) and the enzymes necessary for digestion. Under these circumstances I believe, it's much safer to take a supplement with calcium, magnesium, MSM, and vitamin D.

The Eskimo culture never had cancer and heart disease, until they started eating our foods, even though they ate three times the fat of the average American. The Hopi Indians of Northern Arizona never got cancer as long as they stayed in that geographical area, even though cancer ravished all the cultures surrounding them. The Okinawans of Japan, the Bamas in China, the Tibetans, Titicacans, and the Hunzas all have average live spans of over 100 years, without disease. Why then do Americans on average live only to be around 70 when we have more food, hospitals, doctors and insurance than they do? It's because of their diet and the fact that they are consuming over 100 times the Recommended Daily Allowance, set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), of almost all vitamins and minerals and their diets do not include acid-forming soft drinks, candy, sugar, artificial sweeteners (and white flour products). Maybe that's why many people now refer to the RDA as Recommended Death Allowance and the FDA as the False Data Administration. If they report only the findings they want you to know, leaving out the information you need to know, then these tax funded government organizations are in essence lying to the public.

When Dr. Reich began his medical practice there were only about 50 publications each year about biological calcium. By 1990 that number had swollen to over 7000 publications per year because study after study continues to prove the significance of biological calcium for one's health. In each of the cultures mentioned, where people live to be over 100, they consume over a thousand times the RDA of calcium alone.

According to Robert Barefoot the key to longevity and calcium lies in its ability to neutralize acids in the body. The human body is made up of all the most common elements found on earth with the exception of silicon and aluminum. When God made man, He made him from the richest topsoil's on earth, called the Garden of Eden. I'm convinced that every element was present in the soil, which God used to make Adam, and the foods grew in these same soils. If Adam and Eve had been allowed to stay in the Garden of Eden and eat the perfect foods, which grew from the perfect soils, they would have lived forever. With all the latest research, now being released, it seems that the more nutrients we consume the longer we are living and the fewer degenerative diseases we are developing. Remember, the only difference between those people who are living much longer and those who are dying young, from degenerative disease, is in the nutrient rich foods they are consuming. Most of the foods these people consume are alkaline producing while most of the foods Americans consume are acid producing and lacking in nutrient value.

With the topsoil's in the US having been depleted of 90% of their mineral value, the needless chemicals and hormones that are added to our soils and foods, and the processing that destroys the vitamins and digestive enzymes, making them more acidic, it's no wonder we have an epidemic of degenerative disease. The elements missing, from the average American diet, are crucial to the maintenance of good health and to life itself. There is no doubt that one of the most important of all these elements is calcium. If you break the human body down to its basic elements calcium is, by far, one of the most abundant. One thing that all the people from around the world, living past 100 with exceptional health, have in common is the fact that they are getting over 3000 milligrams of calcium in their daily diet. The FDA would have us believe that 1000 milligrams of calcium per day is sufficient and any thing more could be toxic, yet some of these cultures are getting 17 times that amount daily without any negative side effects whatsoever.

Nature gives us the ideal food to begin life, milk. Some people would have us believe that we don't need milk after we are weaned. The so-called experts explain that even calves stop drinking milk after only a few months. But as Barefoot says in his book, The Calcium Factor, "Calves, like most other animals, replace the calcium rich milk with other calcium rich nutrients, such as 40 pounds of grass daily." He goes on to explain that humans could stop drinking milk if they could eat 40 pounds of grass or 15 pounds of spinach daily, which of course is not possible. He suggests that by reducing milk consumption as we age can result in calcium deficiency induced diseases. It's also important to remember; today's cows are fed antibiotics and hormones so they will produce more milk. It is Robert Barefoot's belief, and I tend to agree with him, that the only safe way to get the calcium you need is to supplement and to date the most bio-available form, of calcium, is Marine Coral Calcium from Okinawa.

Earlier, I told you that God made man from soil that had all the elements found on earth. Adam and Eve ate the plants that grew from that same soil supplying all the nutrients necessary for eternal life. Where can you find a supply of food today, which has the ability to deliver every element found on earth? The answer may be closer than you think. As rain falls on the earth and runs down to the oceans it brings with it all the elements from the soils and rocks. Organisms that eventually form coral reefs take up these elements. Over thousands of years they can build up into islands like Okinawa. The coral is bio-chemically altered to contain all of the mineral nutrients of life. As Barefoot says, the result is a powerhouse of natural marine nutrients known around the world as, "coral calcium."

As we age cells die and are replaced with new ones. Every cell is made of the elements from earth, brought in by the foods we eat and the water we drink. Over time cells wear our and must be replaced. When our diet is missing some of those elements, for instance calcium or sulfur (MSM), then the cell cannot build a healthy replacement. Calcium is just one of the alkaline minerals. We must all have enough magnesium to balance the calcium in our body. In other words without enough calcium you will become acidic. These deficiencies will, over time, result in premature aging and degenerative disease. Remember, you don't catch degenerative diseases you develop them due to nutrient deficiencies. How devastating can this be and what diseases are associated with a calcium deficiency?

Lets begin with the number one killer in America, heart disease. Because the general health of a cell is regulated by calcium, any deficiency makes a cell more prone to deteriorate. A calcium or magnesium deficiency in the heart and arteries may result in a chain of events known as heart disease. Heart disease refers to all irregular conditions of the heart, the most predominant of which is heart attack. Lack of exercise and nutrient deficiencies are proving to be the dominant causes. Calcium and magnesium are vital to heart function because calcium makes all muscles contract and magnesium allows them to relax again. Both are essential minerals. Essential means, you can't live without them and your body cannot manufacture them. They must be consumed.

As you read earlier, calcium is an alkaline mineral. Kilmer McCully, MD believes that when the body becomes too acidic, because of a calcium deficiency and poor dietary habits, the arteries outer muscular layer swells. This causes the inner muscular layer to deteriorate. Your body then attempting to repair the damage makes a layer of plaque to stop the bleeding. Plaque is made up of fats stacked on calcium with cholesterol being only one of many. If the body maintained a normal pH the plaque would not have formed, thus no heart disease would occur. Remember, the latest medical theory is that cholesterol is not the primary cause of heart disease, but rather, inflammation of the blood vessel walls is the primary cause of heart attack and strokes. So you could say, that in today's world, the real cause of most heart disease is too much acid in the body. Now let's see what a lack of calcium may have to do with the epidemic proportions of cancer in the US In 1932, Dr. Otto Warburg won the Noble Prize in Medicine for his discovery that cancer was anaerobic. In other words cancer occurs in absence of free oxygen. A mild alkali can absorb 100 times more oxygen than a mild acid. When your body becomes too acidic it develops a lack of oxygen, which is the perfect breeding ground for cancer. Blood must retain a pH of approximately 7.4 or it can't hold oxygen. All body fluids, with the exception of stomach fluids and urine, should be slightly alkaline in order to hold oxygen and prevent disease.

Now, you may be asking, what does calcium have to do with the cancer epidemic? Yes, I did say epidemic because approximately 300,000 people in the US are dying each year from this dreaded disease. Calcium is one of the most abundant minerals in your body and it is an alkalizing mineral on top of that. Cancer is developed in acid conditions and is never found in people who have high alkaline levels. By putting enough calcium and magnesium in the body with vitamin D you can safely and steadily move the fluids in the body from acid to alkaline.

For example, in the Calcium Factor, Barefoot says, "Thus, in the healthy, calcium buffered, slightly alkaline cell environment, the conditions required for the propagation of cancer do not exist. It therefore remains dormant, or dies. Dr. Reich noted that his cancer patients demonstrated: 1) lifestyle defects responsible for deficiency of one or both calcium and vitamin-D, 2) symptoms and physical signs of ionic calcium deficiency syndrome, and 3) a greater than normal incidence of these ionic calcium deficiency diseases. Thus, he considered cancer as the ultimate adaptation to ionic calcium deficiency, "tailor made" to survive and to thrive in an ionic calcium deficient environment. Dr. Reich found that the cancer in many of his patients seemed to go into remission once their calcium deficiency was rectified, by a change of lifestyle including diet and with mineral and vitamin supplements that raised the pH of their cellular fluids. Their associated ionic calcium deficiency diseases were also suppressed."

They go on to say, " Another interesting fact is that cancer is virtually unknown to the Hopi Indians of Arizona and the Hunza of Northern Pakistan, so long as they stay in the same environment; this strongly suggests that something they are consuming is protecting them from cancer. The only significant difference is their water supply. The Hopi water is rich in rubidium and potassium, and the Hunza water is rich in cesium and potassium, making both of the water supplies rich with very caustically active metals." In other words, because of these alkaline minerals in the water supply their body fluids stay around 7.4 protecting them against cancer.

Research by Dr. K. Brewer (The Mechanisms of Carcinogenesis, 1979, Journal of IAPM, Vol. V, No.2) and Dr. H. Sartori ( Cancer - ? Orwellian or Eutopian, Life Science Universal Inc., 1985), found that, by not only addressing the calcium deficiency, but by also supporting your body with minerals that raise the pH of the fluids from 7.4 to 8.5, the cancer cells would die while the healthy cells would thrive. Both Brewer and Sartori would treat their cancer patients with salts of rubidium and cesium. As a result of the oxygen rich, alkaline conditions resulting from these caustic minerals cancer cells die quickly, without damaging the healthy cells.

In his publication, Cesium Therapy in Cancer Patients, Sartori describes the two-week treatment of 50 last stages, terminal cancer patients of which 13 were already comatose. Ten of the patients had breast cancer, nine had colon cancer, six had prostate cancer, four had pancreas cancer, five had lung cancer, three had liver cancer, three had lymphoma, one had Ewing sarcoma pelvis, one had adeno cancer, and eight had unknown primary cancer. All conventional treatment had failed and the patients had been sent home to die in just a few weeks with the survival rate being less than one in ten million. After treating them with cesium chloride salts for 1 to 3 days, the pain disappeared in all of the patients. After two weeks, thirteen died with autopsies showing no presence of cancer. My personal opinion is that the chemotherapy and radiation therapy had so damaged the organs of their bodies that they could not recover. After 12 months, 12 more had died, but 25, or an astounding 50% survived. Remember, according to the medical establishment all 50 had a one in ten million chance of survival. Unfortunately, both cries of "quackery" and persecution from the medical professionals have driven this caustic, (alkalizing) cancer therapy research underground.

Nobel Prize winner Dr. Otto Warburg proved this was the case early in his career. Other researchers have recently found that cancerous tumors placed in body fluids that were low in calcium grew very fast, while tumors placed in body fluids that were rich in calcium remained dormant. That is not surprising when you consider calcium, just like cesium, rubidium and potassium are alkalizing minerals. This would indicate that when you have plenty of calcium, magnesium and potassium in your body, you are less likely to be acidic thus reducing your risk of cancer. Dr. Reich, Dr. Brewer, and Dr. Sartori, along with plenty others in the world of science believe; alkalizing body fluids could possibly reverse the cancers that already exist. Potassium is very important for Americans because it is the mineral that balances sodium and most of us take in too much sodium. Potassium aids the body in so many ways, we will talk about that in a future article.

Another interesting fact, that's often overlooked by the medical profession, is that all these minerals can be safely taken, in large doses, without interfering with the therapies recommended by the doctor. The ones that choose to use both drugs and nutrition have less negative side affects and recover much faster than those who used only the drugs.

Then why is high calcium in the blood associated with various types of cancer? For the same reason a person with osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, bone spurs or kidney stones have high calcium levels in their blood. When the body becomes too acidic it will dump the alkalizing minerals from the bones into the blood in order to keep the pH at 7.4, the level necessary for life. And once again the medical profession will tell you that you have too much calcium, stop drinking milk and eating foods that are high in calcium. In reality what your body needs, in this time of despair, is more calcium, magnesium and potassium so it can bring about a 7.4 pH in all the body fluids, excluding stomach juices and urine. At the same time you will be supplying your body many of the minerals necessary to replenish bone. Your body's goal is to maintain a slightly alkaline environment and the main tools it uses to accomplish it are calcium, magnesium and potassium.

Now that you know how important calcium is for overall health you must understand how it is absorbed into the body and which form is the most effective. Calcium is one of the most necessary nutrients that must be continually supplied throughout life. Ironically, it is one of the more difficult to digest and absorb. Phosphates, found in red meat and other foods, tend to keep it from being broken down and adsorbed. Once the calcium has been broken down, its absorption into the body is totally dependent on the presence of vitamin-D in the intestine and unfortunately vitamin-D is rare in most foods. The best way to get vitamin-D is to expose your skin to at least 20 minutes of ultra violet sunlight each day and or take vitamin-D as a supplement. (Ignore your doctor's suggestion to stay out of the sun. It is not the sun that causes skin cancer it is the lack of specific nutrients and exposure to xeno-estrogens that create the problem.)

Calcium must be ionized before it can be absorbed into the cell. Remember, magnesium and vitamin-D are also necessary for digestion and utilization of calcium. Calcium lactate and calcium malate, are both extremely soluble and remain ionized. The beautiful thing about coral calcium is that it is already ionized, therefore when you have vitamin-D and magnesium present, with the coral calcium, absorption and utilization is greater. Once the coral calcium, magnesium and vitamin-D levels are adequate and the pH is brought back to normal many disorders seem to slowly disappear. Some of the disorders that have been greatly improved with coral calcium include Diabetes, Bells Palsy, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, malignant cancer, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, frequent urination, Fibromyalgia, high blood pressure, heart disease, Multiple Sclerosis, joint pain, arthritis, bone spurs, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Leukemia, high cholesterol, muscle cramps and back pain.
